My partner and I stop by here every chance we can when we pass by Seaside, adorable little shop with excellent service and DELICIOUS coffee. Anytime we stay in Seaside it's part of our daily routine to get something to drink and walk up and down the beach. The staff are always friendly and pleasant and do their absolute best to make it a welcoming and safe place. I could not recommend stopping by and saying hello more!!

I brought a friend in to Controversial Coffee and after listening to them rave about the coffee and breakfast, I realized I haven't reviewed this spot! I love going in to order a "surprise me" drink, because they are always so delicious. The sandwich options are awesome and I love that my favorite, artichokes, are an option. There are so many games to play while you sip your drinks and so many amazing things to check out, read and admire on the walls. Jesus to Elton John to Fabio (the employee of the month) all are there enjoying the ambiance along with you. Don't miss out on the amazing food, drink and experience that Controversial Coffee has to offer. Oh! And they've got a clothing closet and mutual aid board. Very community centered, very kind, very thoughtful.

I went in here and had a shaking cake cold brew. Funny name. I hope this is a good picture I took I like the coffee a lot. So did my brother. We both had a great time, I wanted to buy iron on rainbow patches but maybe next time.

What more can I say about Controversial Coffee?! It is the best coffee on the Oregon coast (serving Sleepy Monk coffee)! They have drinks, snacks, merch, stickers, photo ops, clothing donation, games, plenty to look at, and places to sit. They are kind, professional, friendly, inclusive, knowledgeable, and quick every time we visit. Wish I had one of these where I live, but alas, it just makes it that much more special when we visit. Thank you! Stay strong, kind, and beautiful you! ☕️💜🏳️‍🌈🤩🏳️‍⚧️🌊

There are so many wonderful things about this coffee shop, I can't possibly fit them all in a single review. They have cute and nerdy themed menus and keep track of the old menus so you never lose a favorite drink just because it was seasonal. They have a pay it forward program and a free clothing closet to make sure everyone in the community can access basic necessities. They have community events, concerts and shows, a venue for your own events, karaoke, and honestly the best staff of any shop around period. Controversial Coffee is not just a coffee shop - it is a model of what a community should be. I drive half an hour to be able to spend time there and give them my business. They are the absolute best. If you go here please leave them a positive review to counteract the small minded folks who try to bring them down. We need this safe space to continue to exist.

I’ve been all over multiple countries, and to find a coffee shop that cares about their community, customers, and staff is uncommon. To actively care and involve themselves to the level that Controversial Coffee does is unheard of. The drinks are awesome. The prices are more than reasonable. The atmosphere is welcoming and accepting of everyone. If you ever have a negative experience here, you should definitely consider some introspection.

Passing through seaside while doing trailwork and found this cafe on my off day! The staff was super friendly and they had a ton of alternative milk options! The space was awesome with a free to take area, books, merch and more. It was super cool to find a community space like that, i highly recommend!

This was such a fun stop for my boyfriend and i on our trip to the coast! A+ meme game, funny drink names, very lgbtq+ friendly. Sadly we only got coffee, not food, but the coffee was amazing!!

First time here as my boyfriend and I were in town for a small birthday trip for me and I wanted to try their chai as I love chai and I know every place makes it differently. The chai was very tasty along with my tiramisu. My boyfriend got a smoothie and a danish which he enjoyed. Grem (cool name btw!) was patient as they took my boyfriends order only to find me distracted by the pins they had for sale (sorry 😅) Ended up buying a keychain and sticker! We also bought 2 brownies and 2 cookies to save as snacks for later because they looked too good to pass up. They were in fact delicious snacks. Will definitely be back when we come to town next! (And I will try not to get distracted by pins next time but no promises ☺️)

Great coffee, great croissant sandwiches, great fun, great activism. Love the work they are doing in their community. Their support for our unhoused neighbors especially hit home for me. We stopped in to support a queer owned business and ended up finding our new favorite coastal cafe for brunch, selfies, and play a game of cribbage.
